Retriever Emergency
Management System (REMS)
REMS is designed
to provide State, County and Local Emergency Managers with the tools required
to efficiently and accurately manage emergencies involving mass evacuation. The scope of this product goes from
pre-enrollment, through evacuation, sheltering and recovery.
A wide
range of technologies is used to provide the most robust system possible,
while maintaining ease-of-use.
REMS is
comprised of four modules:

Pre-Enrollment
This
module utilizes web portals for schools, senior facilities and special needs
citizens for pre-enrollment into the REMS database.

Evacuee Tracking
This module
utilizes mobile computers, RFID tags and readers, bar codes, portable
printing, cellular data communications, GPS and store-and-forward technology
to track the movements of Evacuees to a shelter.

Shelter Operations
This
module includes functions that run on Windows PC (including laptops and
tablet), Windows Mobile Computers and supported SmartPhones. Shelter operators can update Evacuee
locations, track events (i.e. give-aways, medical screenings), requisition
for re-supply, register volunteers, screen for sex offenders and identify
unaccompanied children.

Logistics
This
module supports inventory control for shelter operations and other points-of-resupply. This includes complete warehouse management
(receiving, shipping, counts, picking, etc).
It also includes inventory control for resupply vehicles, shelters and
other points that must be re-supplied.
The Dispatching component allows as Operator to assign deliveries as efficiently
as possible, using computer-aided-dispatching technology.

Patient Tracking
Currently under development is a REMS module designed to
assist with the allocation of limited medical resources in an emergency. This module will conform to the HAVBED
protocol requirements.
