ROMS Hardware Kits

ROMS Kits provide all of the hardware, accessories and consumables required to take maximum advantage of the ROMS software.  They provide a way to add a little functionality at a time.  All of these kits require a previous purchase of the ROMS package.  (Part No. RSI-JLKPR-001)

All Kits include two full years of total replacement coverage.  Any hardware failure that occurs during the normal course of operations is covered.  Replacements will be sent via over-night delivery.

Minimum Recommended Hardware Kit –   $1,700

This kit includes the components required to effectively use ROMS on a desktop PC.  This includes 2 tethered barcode scanners, a bar code label printer, 12 rolls of labels, 4 barcode label printer ribbons and 1 digital camera (web cam).   This kit will includes everything needed for Inmate Property Tracking.  (Part No. RSI-JKHW-001)

ID Card Printing Kit –  $ 3,850

This kit includes the hardware, accessories and consumables required to produce Employee ID Cards and location placards.  This includes 2 tethered barcode scanners, a Zebra ID Card printer, USB cable, 2 printer ribbons, PVC card stock (100 cards), 100 ID Card Fasteners, 1 ID Card punch and 1 digital camera (web cam).  (Part No. RSI-IDCARDKIT-001)

Photo Wristband Printing Kit  -  $ 1,750

This kit includes the hardware, accessories and consumables for producing inmate color photo wristbands.  This includes 1 digital camera (web cam), 1 Ink Jet Printer, 2 tethered barcode scanners, 1 Wristband Laminator, 1000 Wristbands with plastic fasteners and  1000 Wristband Labels.  (Part No. RSI-WRSTKIT-001)

Mobility Kit –  $ 3,300

This kit includes everything required to start taking advantage of the mobile capabilities included in ROMS.  It includes 1 ROMS PocketPC with high capacity battery, 1 PocketPC cradle with cables and power supply; 1 Access Point.   There is no additional software or licensing cost.  (Part No. RSI-JKMOBILEKIT-001)

Mobility Kit Pro - $ 4,995

This kit is for those facilities that require a more sophisticated wireless network infrastructure.  The Symbol Technologies wireless switch (WS2000) provides more secure encryption and the ability to manage more aspects of the wireless network.  Two access ports are included to provide expanded coverage over a single access point.  The WS2000 is capable of supporting up to 5 access ports.  Contact Retriever Software if your facility requires extended wireless coverage.  The kit includes 1 ROMS PocketPC with high capacity battery, 1 PocketPC cradle with cables and power supply, 1 WS2000 Wireless Switch with Access Port, 1 additional Access Port, and one serial cable.  See the ROMS PocketPC kit to expand your system.  (Part No. RSI-JKMOBILEKIT PRO-001)

PocketPC Kit –  $ 3,150

This kit includes a ROMS PocketPC and accessories.  The PocketPC is a ruggedized version that features integrated bar code scanning and wireless networking.  The ROMS software is designed to allow this device to operate beyond the range of a wireless network and to automatically store data until the user is within range.    The kit includes 1 ROMS PocketPC with high capacity battery and 1 PocketPC cradle with cables and power supply.  The PocketPC is pre-loaded with the ROMS mobile unit license.  Use this kit to expand your ROMS wireless installation.  (Part No. RSI-JKPPCKIT-001)

Inmate Document Tracking Kit –  $ 1,350

This kit includes the hardware, accessories and labels for printing color coded bar code labels for folders.  This includes 1 inkjet printer, USB printer cable, 2 tethered barcode scanners, 1000 Record Jacket Labels, 1000 Record Jacket folders.  (Part No. RSI-DOCKIT-001)

Future Kits

Hardware kits to support new functions will be announced as the new applications are released.  Retriever Software is committed to expanding ROMS to provide our custody customers with all of the functionality required to track critical events in their facilities.

Finger Print Kit - This hardware kit (fingerprint reader, cable and software license) for fingerprint related applications (including Inmate Identification and Inmate Release) is expected to cost roughly $995.

Drivers License Swipe Kit – This kit will work with the Visitor Tracking application to allow input via the swipe of a driver’s license.  The swipe device is attached to a PC keyboard.

Stationary Bar Code Scanner Kit – This kit will be used for the Access Control and CheckIn/CheckOut applications to scan employee ID Cards.  It will include a hands free bar code scanner that can be mounted at a fixed location.

Portable Printing Kit – This kit will work with the Asset Tracking application to print asset labels on-the-fly, from the PocketPC.
